About Our Charity

The People’s Mission provides clothing, bedding, toiletries and other essentials to the homeless and those who are struggling. We also support other organisations working with homeless and struggling people in our communities by sharing resources. We want to make a difference in the lives of people during traumatic times in their lives.

 Our Mission

Providing Homeless care packages to nurture and care for the disadvantaged so that they might have a better life.

To provide assistance to homeless people; particularly the young, irrespective of sex, race, creed and colour.

To uphold outreach services that provide hospitality, comfort and companionship to lonely, abandoned and homeless people

To develop a welfare network to collaborate and liaise with the community and other likeminded organisations

To foster people’s self-worth and dignity by providing support, encouragement and hope to the disadvantaged, especially those who experience isolation, drug problems, loneliness and alienation

To carry out objectives in accordance with the teachings of the Bible

Our History

The People’s Mission is a not for profit organisation that began in Brisbane, Qld in 1990. It started with Paul and Barbie driving around in their van giving out bread, food, clothing, bedding and other necessities when they came across homeless people.

We have continued what Paul and Barbie started and are currently working with, and assisting other organisations that provide food and other forms of welfare assistance.

We actively solicit donations of clothing, bedding, toiletries, backpacks, footwear and other items from members of the public, retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers and we then distribute those items to those in need.

Our Volunteer Committee

We seek out volunteers who are able to contribute and assist the homeless and who share the values of The Peoples Mission.

Homelessness can happen to anyone

20,000 people in Queensland are experiencing homelessness. That is 1 in every 200 Queenslanders. It can mean sleeping rough, but can also mean people staying in temporary or unsuitable accommodation. The cause of homelessness can be as a result of a domestic situation, mental illness, drug addiction or financial crisis. Whatever the cause, we can help!
